Nezisková organizace New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) odhalila seznam nominovaných her na letošní ocenění. Jde o 13. ročník této každoroční akce. Vítězové budou oznámeny 23. 1. v divadle SVA v New Yorku.

Do kategorie nejlepší hra roku bylo nominováno 8 kousků, včetně Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 nebo Starfield.

Také jsme se dozvěděli, že během akce bude Neil Druckmann z Naughty Dog (Uncharted, The Last of Us) oceněn cenou Andrew Yoon Legend Award. Tuto cenu dostávají lidé, co posunuli herní svět kupředu. Loni tuto cenu získal Phil Spencer, šéf herní divize Microsoftu. Předtím Tim Schafer (Psychonauts, Grim Fandango, The Secret of Monkey Island), Hideo Kojima (Death Stranding, Metal Gear Solid), Reggie Fils-Aimé z amerického Nintenda a Jade Raymond (Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs). 

V roce 2023 hrou roku bylo vybráno Elden Ring a nejlepší nezávislou hrou Vampire Survivors. V roce 2022 naopak Psychonauts 2 a Sable. V roce 2021 potom Hades v obou kategoriích.
