Po více než čtyřech hodinách živého vysílání, spoustě hostů a desítek světových premiér skončilo The Game Awards 2020. Vyhlášením nejlepších her roku provázel Geoff Keighley a hrou roku se bez pochyb stal survival thriller The Last of Us Part II. Kromě této sošky si Naughty Dog bude moci vystavit cenu za nejlepší akční dobrodružství nebo za herecký výkon Laury Bailey v roli Abby.

To komunita nejlepší hrou roku 2020 zvolila jinou PS4 exkluzivitu - Ghost of Tsushima. Nejočekávanější hrou roku 2021 je zase Elden Ring. V anketě si špatně nevedlo ani Final Fantasy VII Remake nebo Hades.

Cyberpunk 2077 nominován nebyl, vyšel až po uzávěrce The Game Awards 2020.

Zvolit The Last of Us Part II hrou roku je odvážné. Na jedné straně dělá hra spoustu věcí zajímavým způsobem, přináší spoustu novinek i neokoukaný a dosti nečekaný příběh. Fanouškům prvního dílu se ale dvojka moc nezamlouvá.
